AM I A HYBRID???

I fight for my friends,

I fight for my family.

Against the evil trends,

The wrong doers of the society.

No, I am not the hero of the area,

But do tell, am I a Kshatriya ?

I earn the daily bread,

For myself and my family.

And thus we are daily fed,

Oh GOD, I thank Thee.

No, I am not a social cashier,

But do tell me, am I a Vaishya?

Cleanliness is my taste,

I clean my own house,

Get rid of waste,

And so does my spouse.

No, I am not a perjurer of modern era,

But do tell me, am I a Kshudra?

I surrender unto Thee,

My Almighty Father in Heaven.

I’d come to you, as time would flee.

Protect your child,my humble prayer.Amen.

I pray to You every evening and morning,

So do tell me, am I a Brahmin?

ARE OUR HEARTS THE SAME TODAY???

The theme of my poem is present versus past.

In the past, GUEST IS GOD was the motto of every caste.

People did their best to serve their guest,

And made sure their guest had ample rest.

Time went by, and people changed hearts.

Their mottos changes, like the change of arts.

And now is the time when guests are regarded as hogs,

And people quote on their gates, “BEWARE OF DOGS”.

GLOBAL WARMING

ARE WE GOING TO DO NOTHING AT ALL…?

The Earth is dying. Its high time, we have to do something, each one of us.

Can’t we students, sharing similar mentalities, combine together to make a change. Let us all come together for a noble cause. If you care, even a trifle, about Your Earth, do post your comments regarding what you can do to save this planet from dying.

FUN AT NATURE’S COST

There is a strange custom at MNNIT Allahabad. Every year after graphics exams, students tear the chart papers and burn them to ashes, just for the sake of fun. Several kilos of paper that could have been recycled is wasted for no reason. Is this fun not too much a cost for the nature and for ourselves in the long run. Millions of trees are cut down every minute all over the world just for the production of paper. Global warming is imposing a high risk to the very existence of mankind, and in a few hundred years we human beings would be on the verge of extinction if we don’t control our activities.

The chart papers that are burnt every year if recycled could give a poor student books to read and copies to write upon. Why have we people become so selfish, that we are destroying the very planet we live upon, the planet whom we call our mother, our MOTHER EARTH. Are we so selfish that we can exploit even our mothers just for the sake of enjoyment. Ah! then we should be ashamed of calling ourselves humans. Animals are better than we humans.

This is my humble request to all my juniors, if you care even a trifle about your mother, please stop this custom of destroying papers. Stop this sinister for your own sake, for the sake of mankind, for the sake of your future generations, because exploiting the Earth so mercilessly just out of fun is a grave sin. Stop being so base, so cruel, so inhuman. Whatever is done cannot be undone, but we can always have a new, beautiful beginning. Save paper, and make this world a better place to live in. If each one of us does his part, the day is not far when God himself will descend and say, “Wow! your heaven is indeed better than mine!” :-)

SARDAR JOKES

Most of us are aware of the fact that when India was under the British rule, Sikhs played a major role in the Indian struggle for freedom and the Sikh regiment was one of the most powerful regiment in the First War Of Independence(1857).

The helpless British started insulting the Sikhs by placing a sardar as a character in every joke representing a fool. And look at us Indians, even decades after the British have left India, we like irrational, stupid beings still continue to joke about Sikhs. The word sardar itself makes our jokes to interesting and plausible. Haha…. three cheers to Indian mentality.

My dear friends, please stop using the word sardar in your jokes and SMS. If you find too difficult to go without it, kindly replace it with Santa or Banta. Give the Sikhs the respect they deserve, for liberating our country from the British Raj.

TIME

Always save your precious time,
Because wasting time is a dangerous crime.
Time wasted shall never come again
And it shall punish you with austere bane.

Grab the opportunities as they come,
Because time and tide wait for none.
Best are those who never take idle rest,
And rest are those who are never at their best.
